Position Summary
The Manager, Fund Development plays a key role in supporting the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton’s fundraising efforts through planning, coordination, and relationship management.
Reporting to the Executive Director, this role is responsible for implementing fundraising initiatives aligned with the organization’s annual plan, with a strong focus on:
· donor stewardship and retention,
· sponsorship and partnership development,
· grant coordination and reporting, and
· tracking and monitoring fundraising performance.
This role is not solely focused on growth, but rather on building a stable, predictable, and well-coordinated fundraising program that supports long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Fund Development Planning & Execution
· Support the development and implementation of the annual fundraising plan.
· Coordinate fundraising activities across annual giving, sponsorship, grants, and partnerships.
· Monitor fundraising performance and identify areas for adjustment.
· Ensure alignment between fundraising activities and organizational capacity.
Donor & Partner Stewardship
· Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners.
· Coordinate stewardship activities, including recognition, reporting, and communications.
· Support renewal and ongoing engagement of key partners.
· Ensure timely and meaningful donor acknowledgment and follow-up.
Grants & Sponsorship
· Identify and pursue grant opportunities, including application development, submission, and reporting.
· Develop and package compelling sponsorship opportunities aligned with organizational priorities.
· Lead the cultivation, solicitation, and securing of sponsorships for events and broader organizational initiatives.
· Track deliverables and ensure all sponsorship commitments are fulfilled.
Fundraising Tracking & Reporting
· Oversee the accuracy and integrity of fundraising data within the CRM.
· Monitor revenue performance against targets.
· Support the preparation of reports for the Executive Director, Finance Committee, and Board.
· Strengthen tracking processes to improve visibility into fundraising performance.
Collaboration & Team Support
· Provide day-to-day guidance and coordination to the Fund Development & Events Coordinator.
· Work closely with the Fund Development & Events Coordinator on event-related fundraising activities.
· Collaborate with external marketing/communications support to align messaging with fundraising initiatives.
· Support cross-functional coordination during peak campaign periods
Qualifications
· 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or partnership development.
· Experience with grants, sponsorship, and donor stewardship.
· Strong organizational and coordination skills.
· Experience working with donor databases/CRM systems.
· Ability to analyze and interpret fundraising data.
· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured and organized way.
Working at the Christmas Bureau
This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position based in Edmonton. Some evening and weekend work may be required during peak campaign periods.
