Making the holidays happen since 1940
Since 1940, the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton has maintained one tradition - to provide a nutritious, festive meal to people in need during the holiday season. In 2025, over 37,000 individuals were provided a festive meal.
"I would just like to say thank you so much, you really helped make my Christmas better. I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. It was very kind and generous of you, and at this point in my life, this gift of food meant so much to me. I hope there will be a happy new year for me this year and for all of the kind folks who made this happen for me. Thank you very much."

It’s greater than one meal
What started out as a few families helping each other during WWII in 1940, has evolved into over 100 social service agencies, 50+ community partnerships, and 800+ volunteers to bring together our Festive Food Hamper Program every December. We believe it is greater than one meal and that one act of kindness can impact someone for a lifetime. Operational all year long, it takes our team 10 months to plan, coordinate, and execute food service deliveries to over 35,000 people during the holiday season. No easy task. From our dedicated volunteers, community partners, and donors, it takes an entire community to help a community. So, we implore you to find new ways to help. Whether it’s your time, monthly donations, fundraising efforts, or corporate sponsorships, your support will make an incredible difference for families before December 25.
And just like the song, Christmas should be "the most wonderful time of the year"!
The people. The places. The impact.
