ABOUT Barbara McKenzie
I always say that once you’re part of the Christmas Bureau family, you’re part of the family for life. I’ve been fortunate to volunteer with the Christmas Bureau for over 15 years, and I know that long after I leave the role of board chair, I’ll stay involved. I first joined when a former board member recruited me, and I knew right away this was the organization for me. I love Christmas — anyone who knows me knows I over-decorate and adore my big family Christmas Eve celebration. The Christmas Bureau gives that same light to everyone who may be struggling over the holidays, and to me, that’s the true spirit of Christmas: sharing.
Who am I? I’m an entrepreneur, change-maker, leader, and founder. I currently run my own business, IgnitionCEO, and serve as Executive Director of Global Chamber Alberta. I’m an experienced corporate director with significant governance experience, and in addition to the Christmas Bureau, I currently sit on the Lean In Edmonton board and the Lift Impact Partners board.
