I’m trying to call to apply over the phone, but the lines are busy. What should I do?
- Unfortunately, that means that our phone lines busy and all our Intake Workers are with clients.
- However, keep in mind that the earlier you apply, the better chance you have of reaching our Intake team by phone in a timely manner.
- The closer we get to Christmas, the busier our phone lines get.
I know a family that really needs help this Christmas. Can I apply on their behalf?
No, unfortunately you cannot apply on their behalf. Our screening process involves obtaining personal information about the family and their situation, which we can only obtain from the official applicant. However, if you do know someone that needs assistance, feel free to direct them to our website for assistance.
I live outside of Edmonton (i.e. Sherwood Park, Beaumont, and St. Albert). Can I receive assistance from the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton?
Unfortunately, no. The Christmas Bureau of Edmonton services are provided within the limits of corporate Edmonton. If you require assistance outside of Edmonton, please contact the agency in your community or 211.
I’m not Christian. Am I allowed to apply for assistance?
Absolutely. The Christmas Bureau of Edmonton is culturally inclusive, meaning that we serve people of all cultural and religious backgrounds.
I applied for assistance last year, but my address has changed since then. What should I do?
Applications are not kept from year to year. You are required to submit a new application for assistance every year you need help.
Will I be receiving an application in the mail this year?
No, application forms are not mailed. You must apply:
- Apply online starting October 7, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.
- There are no walk-in days
Please only apply once as applying multiple times may delay your application. If you are unsure if your application went through, please call the intake team during business hours.
When is the application deadline?
- All applications and documentation must be received by December 2, 2024.

I’m expecting a hamper delivery. When will the hampers be delivered?
- Hampers will be delivered by Christmas Bureau volunteers on Saturday, December 21 between the hours of 8:30 am and 3:30 pm.
- You must be home during that time to receive your hamper.
- Hampers will NOT be left outside your door, with a minor or a neighbour.
I’m expecting a Private Sponsor hamper delivery. When will this hamper be delivered?
- Private Sponsor deliveries are pre-arranged by the Sponsor and the receiving family on a date and time appropriate for both.
- You must be home during that time to receive your hamper.
- Private Sponsor hampers will NOT be left outside your door, with a minor or a neighbour.
I’m expecting the delivery of toys for my children. When will they be delivered?
- Toys will be delivered by Santas Anonymous. Please contact them directly for delivery dates.
My hamper was supposed to be delivered today, but I didn’t receive it. What should I do?
I was supposed to receive my gift card in the mail but it hasn’t arrived yet. What should I do?
