In 2025, the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton will celebrate 85 years of helping Edmontonians have a festive meal during the holiday season. We’re all about community, compassion, and giving back to our city. We work with tons of awesome social service agencies, community partners, and volunteers to bring our Festive Food Hamper Program to those who need a little extra joy during the holiday season. We’re looking for some passionate people to join our Board of Directors and help us keep spreading the joy for the next 85 years!

What You’ll Do 

As a member of our Board, you’ll help us: 

• Keep our mission, vision, and values front and center 

• Make sure we’re on track with our goals and plans 

• Be good stewards of our resources 

• Spread the word about the Christmas Bureau and all the good we do

What We’re Looking For 

You’ll be a great fit if you: 

• Love what we do and want to make a difference 

• Are excited to give back to your community 

• Bring a unique perspective and represent the diverse communities we serve 

• Are looking to learn and grow (this is a great board for first timers!) 

Bonus points if you have experience in: 

• Finance or accounting 

• Working with diverse communities 

• Fundraising in the non-profit sector 

Time Commitment 

• 3-year term with the option to renew 

• Bi-monthly meetings and an annual board planning session 

• Board committee involvement 

• 8+ hours of volunteer work per year
